David Maldonado is a Spanish guitarist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in San Diego, California. Raised in a family where playing music was as natural as breathing, his early influences spanned Spanish classical music, Bach, and Mozart. By age eight he was an accomplished violinist; by fourteen he was performing classical guitar concerts and studying under the Royal Family of the Classical Guitar.

David has toured the world, recorded for Hollywood films and television (Bravo, Discovery, ABC, EMG TV, and the Diablo movie), composed two original symphonies, and sold out theaters in major U.S. cities. He has released five original albums worldwide, including DAVICAS — 39 weeks on the Billboard charts and Billboard’s #12 best-selling World Album of 2017 — and Davicas XX, which reached #1 on the Billboard New Age & World charts and #1 on iTunes. He is a Latin GRAMMY-nominated songwriter (Best Tropical Song, Subiendo Y Bajando, 2019), a Recording Academy voting member, and a NAMM Show featured artist.

His music blends the beauty and structure of classical composition with the passion, upbeat rhythms, and gypsy scales of flamenco — plus Latin pop, reggaeton, and modern top 40 arrangements styled for live events.
